The Butcher of Bareilly: How Kuldeep Kumar Gangwar Killed 9 Women in 14 Months

The women of Bareilly were disappearing. For over a year, fear gripped the villages. Between June 2023 and July 2024, nine women were found dead in sugarcane fields. Their bodies lay hidden among the tall stalks, their lives cruelly stolen by an unseen hand. The killer moved like a ghost, striking and vanishing without a trace. At first, the police thought these were isolated cases: a robbery gone wrong, a personal dispute, or an accident. But as the pattern emerged, a terrifying realization spread: a serial killer was on the loose. He had a signature strangulation, with the knots always tied to the left. He killed with precision, leaving behind no clues, no evidence. The people of Bareilly lived in fear, locking their doors before nightfall, whispering about the murderer who walked among them. Then, in July 2024, the police caught a man: Kuldeep Kumar Gangwar. When questioned, he simply smiled and confessed, "I killed six." But if he admitted to six, who killed the other thr...

7 Questions that remain unanswered in Sheena Bora Murder Mystery (Pt.2)

An ex-husband, a car driver and a brutal mother who didn't think twice before leaving her two kids for her bright future...!

This story is as complicated as a soap opera plot, with twists, turns, and unexpected drama at every moment and the reality being more like of a game of chess, with every move carefully calculated and full of hidden strategies.

Indrani, the prime suspect of her missing daughter Sheena (Who had been allegedly murdered by Indrani, her mother.), what exactly happened to Sheena is still shrouded in mystery, with conflicting reports and many truths covered behind a bunch of lies.

Before answering the questions that are still a mystery, Let's take a look at a brief overview of Indrani Mukherjea, who is allegedly the prime suspect and murderer of her own daughter Sheena.

Click here to know about Pt.1  of Sheena Bora Case.

The Pori Bora Era

Pori Bora, later known as Indrani Mukherjea gave birth to Sheena Bora in 1987 in Shillong, Meghalaya when she was just 17. Before Sheena was born, Indrani brought her boyfriend Siddhartha Das at her home and presented him to society as Sheena's father.

After one year, Indrani gave birth to yet another child, Mikhail Bora in September 1988, being Siddhartha Das, his biological father. At time of Mikhail's birth, Indrani was not even 19. Given her aspirations and ambitions of becoming a high-class, rich, and entitled woman, one day Indrani left home when Sheena was just one year old and mikhail was not even 6 months old and move to Kolkata. Few months later, Siddhartha also left Indrani's home and the kids to Indrani's Parents.

The Calcutta Story

Indrani had left Guwahati, Assam and shifted to Kolkata in 1990, where she met her first official husband but second one, ironically; Sanjeev Khanna in one of the parties she used to attend, and married him a few months later in 1993.

In1996, Indrani startd her career and established INX Service Private Limited as a recruitment company in Kolkata. After an year, she gave birth to her third child Vidhie Khanna but first from Sanjeev Khanna in August 1997.

Nobody knows the reasons but Indrani then divorced Sanjeev Khanna and moved to Mumbai in 2002, but this time she carried her daughter along.

Mumbai: The City of Dreams or Indrani's next Big Step

In 2002, Indrani moved to Mumbai where she met her next huaband Peter Mukherjea and got married to him in the same year, while Peter ended up adopting Vidhie khanna.

Everything was going smooth and Indrani was living her dream life, as her then husband Peter was a huge star of Indian Media Industry, Peter Mukherjea was the CEO of Star Group having a lot huge connections in media. Indrani got Peter's support and in 2007, she co-founded INX Media with Peter Mukherjea taking on the role of CEO, but she ended up resigning from the company and later sold stake in it.

The Daughter-Sister Angle

In 2006, Indrani decided to bring Sheena and Mikhail to stay with her as the grandparents were not able to handle both kids' finances at such an older age. But, the plot gets a twist here that Indrani put a condition ahead of Sheena and Mikhail that they have to call her their elder sister and not mother as it would negatively impact her reputation and the fame she had earned in those years.

In 2006, Sheena started to live with Mukherjeas and Mikhail was sent to Bangalore to complete his schooling. And the rest is history.....!

Sheena was never found thereafter the incidence, and Indrani, who was the prime suspect for murdering her daughter still firmly maintains her innocence, standing by her claim that she is not guilty.

The Love Story That Didn't Last

As mentioned in part 1 of this blog, Rahul (Peter's son from his ex-wife) and Sheena fell in love, and started living together given the fact that Indrani did not like their relationship.
Even most of the reports say that Rahul and Sheena started living together and didn't even inform Indrani and Peter about their engagement.

Also, there are various theories about why Indrani did not like Sheena and Rahul's relationship. One of them is that Indrani did not want her past to ruin the elite present that she had built over the past years, and if Sheena would marry Rahul, the truth had to come out sooner or later.

A similar phenomenon was seen in [Aarushi Talwar Double Murder Case: The Unsolved Mystery]

The night Rahul dropped Sheena for her to meet Indrani was the last time he saw her, a lot of manipulative texts came that night from Sheena's cell to Rahul, but he didn't believe those texts and firmly waited for her for the next few days. Months passed by but there was no information of use, nothing from Indrani and Peter was conclusive and all efforts were going in vain.

Now comes series of questions that this case has left unanswered:

1- Many of residents from Assam have reported that Peter was Indrani's fifth husband, if this is so then who is the biological father of Sheena Bora? Is Siddhartha Das the biological father of both Sheena and Mikhail?

2- When a dead body was found in Raigad district in 2012, why did not the police register a murder case then? Why there was no investigation had processed? Why the Maharashtra Police did not sent the dead body for autopsy?

3- During an interrogation with Sanjeev Khanna, he said that he was present in the car with Indrani, her car driver Shyam rai on the day of murder but had fallen asleep, and when he woke up, he found 24-year-old Sheena dead besides him. Is it possible that two person in a car murders the third one and the fourth person just not get to know about the brutal act taking place beside him neither does he hear any sound of struggle?

4- Mikhail said that his sister was very dear to him and that they used to shared everything with each other, How come Sheena not know when Mikhail had been sent to Mental Asylum for an entire year? And how come Mikhail believe Indrani when she said Sheena had gone to USA for her studies for three years without being in contact with her of any sort?

5- Rahul said that he had gone to the police station to file a missing complaint of Sheena but they wouldn't lodge a complaint, why did police did not file a complaint or is Rahul lying about that? Also, why didn't any of Sheena's family member filed a missing complaint even after Rahul had asked them to do so?

6- If Indrani is not guilty and so is Sanjeev Khanna then why on the day of murder that Sanjeev Khanna go to Mumbai and stayed in a hotel room booked by Indrani?

7- If Sheena was killed on April 24, 2012; then who sent few text messages to Rahul from Sheena's cell phone after a few days of her murder, and who sent the resignation mail from her mail ID to Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd (MMOPL) apparently after her murder? Is she alive or there is someone who was using her cell?

Whatever happened to Sheena Bora is still unclear but the prime suspect of this case is out of the prison, Indrani Mukherjea got divorced by Peter Mukherjea in jail in 2019 and got released after an order from Supreme court on the murder mystery.

Is Squid Game Based on a Real Story?

Red Light, Green Light...Red Light, Green Light....! Sounded fun when we all were kids, right? This was one of my favourite games when I was 6. But after seeing people play it on the Netflix show, Squid Game, it turned into a nightmare for me. When Squid Game premiered on Netflix in 2021, it was much more than any other series. It was a cultural touchstone that drew millions of viewers. It offered a deep and thought-provoking look at some of society's biggest issues. It did not only entertain but also forced the world to consider the issues of economic inequality, human desperation, and moral decay. An easy premise but haunting: 456 gamblers, all drowning in debt, find themselves pulled into a game of survival through childhood games where losing proves lethal.  Squid Game grabs attention with shocking visuals and an intense plot, but it stands out for its deeper messages. It highlights society's struggles, the burden of history, and human resilience. These themes set it apart ...
